MONTECRISTO

MONTECRISTO

Launched under the H. Upmann factory in 1935, Montecristo is named as a tribute to the cigar-smoking protagonist in Alexandre Dumas’s 1844 novel, 'The Count of Monte Cristo'. Today, the cigars are affectionately known as ‘Monties’ and account for almost 25 percent of Cuba’s annual cigar export. Sizes ‘A’ and ‘Esepcialies’ were added after the original five sizes, and are full-flavoured and distinctive in the tobacco-blend palate unique only to Montecristo.
